SEC2000 Spectrometer, a multi-channel spectrometer, is specifically designed for spectroelectrochemical measurements. The combination of the spectrometer and light source, allows having UV/VIS and VIS/NIR mode. In the light source, the lens is incorporated to the light in a small module, it eliminates the need of fiber optics. Detector and light source could be set to the cell holder in a 90 degrees angle for measurements of the fluorescence.

For the combo kit, spectrometer (detector) has a standard 50 µm wide slit, with a resolution of 2.3 ± 0.2 nm. Slit of 10, 50, 100 and 200 µm is available as an option. Furthermore, UV/VIS or VIS/NIR model can be chosen by the measurement wavelength range.

Visual Spectra 2.1

Visual Spectra is the software for SEC2000. The minimum recommended PC configuration, for the
instalation of the Visual Spectra 2.1 is windowsOS 8.1, CPU Intel Core i3.

Calibration mode

SEC2000 Calibration mode

Using the calibration mode, you could have the concentration analysis for two ways. The concentration
of the sample could be obtained by baseline method or by the absorbance calue at a single wavelength.
If your measurement analysis has a baseline method, in this case the noise will not influence the result.
For non-distinct and unclear absorption peak, you could determine the absorbance at the sinle wavelength.

Real time Monitoring

SEC2000 Real time Monitoring

The oxidation of potassium Ferrocyanide at 800 mV vs Ag/AgCl was measured by absorbance mode using SEC2000.

The light or excitation source sends light to the sample. The light interacts with the sample. The light is collected by the spectrometer and the spectral information is sent to the SEC2000. The energy is transmitted through cuvette holder and it is dispersed via a fixed grating across a linear charge-coupled device (CCD) array detector. The A/D converter transforms the analog data collected from the spectrometer into digital information. This is passed to the software, providing the user with application-specific information.

SEC2000 UV/VIS Application

SEC2000-UV/VIS Spectrometer is simple and easy operation, compact and multi-channel spectrometer. In the light source the lens was incorporated to the light in a small module, it eliminated the need of fiber optics (Fig. 1). The main application of SEC2000 is for spectroelectrochemical measurements. Moreover, the combination with fiber-optics probe, introduced below, becomes possible the application in a wide experimental fields. Based on the examples below, you could find your own configuration!

Spectroelectrochemical measurement

ALS1200A Electrochemical analyzer and SEC-C Thin Layer Quartz Glass Spectroelectrochemical cell combination could be a compact configuration for spectroelectrochemical measurement. The oxidation of Potassium Ferrycianide at 800 mV vs Ag/AgCl was measured by absorbance mode using SEC2000 (Fig.2).

Combination with fiber optics

When you connect the optional fiber optics in SEC2000 Spectrometer, it could amplify the experimental application field. Some of the configurations are shown below.

Color analysis and absorbance of the material could be measured by reflected light spectrum. Fiber optic from light source and detector is embedded in a reflection light measured probe. Measurement using immersion probe could be directly with the immersion of the probe in a sample, without any previous adjustment.

With an absolute spectral intensity irradiation at 90 degrees, the fluorescence of the sample could be measured. For this application a high power supply, as LED power supply, is recommended. Radiation, as a solar radiation, with a 180 degrees field of view, could be collected using Cosine Correctors at the extremity of the fiber optic connected to the SEC2000-UV/VIS.

Example of experimental configuration using SEC2000-VIS/NIR Spectrometer

When you connect the optical fiber or optical fiber probes in SEC2000 Spectrometer, it could amplify the experimental application field.

Reflection spectra measurement using transmission dip probe

The transmition dip probe has a tip in the extremity of the probe, which is appropriate for the measurement of the spectrometry of the solution. Using the Visual Spectra Analysis software, it could be possible to save automatically the value of the spectrum variation and the spectrogram in a determinad wavelength.
